Norma Pritchard it is not at all clear from the visual image that these shoes do not open up at the front like regular trainers meaning the laces are for show only and serve no purpose. Neither do they have a finger tab at the heel to help pull them on. Because my grandson could not get his feet into them I was either faced with the cost of return postage or cut them down the centre section that looks in the photo like the tongue - which is what I have done. Really bad design! I Can see why they are not selling well
